Azteca Sans was designed specially for Banco Azteca, it was a custom font with a wide range of styles and weights for the largest bank in Mexico and Latin America.
The project
This custom font was created to work across all the communication of Banco Azteca, the request was to have a versatile font family for use in print media and on mobile devices. The brief was to have a sans serif in multiple weights and styles, useful for the website, app and printed material.
We started developing the ideation for the Uprights, exploring different options from neutral to more expressive proposals.
Once the Normal width styles were developed, the font family was expanded to Condensed and Extended styles, this allowed the use of the typefaces in multiple scenarios, from text typeset to save space in narrow formats to headings for posters with more available space.
Ultimately, the project resulted in a cohesive and scalable typographic system designed to ensure consistency, clarity, and adaptability across every touchpoint of the brand.
